CHARLESTON, SC - The 6th annual "Kindness Beats Blindness" silent and live auction scheduled during the Charleston RiverDogs-Augusta GreenJackets game tonight (Saturday) at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park has been postponed due to inclement weather. It has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 30, during another scheduled RiverDogs-GreenJackets contest.

This year's auction, with proceeds going to benefit the MUSC Storm Eye Institute, features sports memorabilia items -- many of which are autographed -- jewelry, golf packages, hotel and restaurant certificates, a cruise for two, a Bon Jovi autographed guitar, among other great prizes and services.

In addition, RiverDogs players were slated to wear New York Yankees pinstripe jerseys during the ballgame, which would be auctioned off during the contest and presented to the highest bidder following the game. All items, including the pinstripe uniform tops, will still be available during the auction on July 30.

The status for Saturday's game, scheduled for a 7:05 pm first pitch, has yet to be determined. The RiverDogs and GreenJackets will conclude the three-game series Sunday afternoon with a single game slated for 4:05 pm.
