Kannapolis, NC - Kannapolis combined a two-hit no run start by Garry Bakker with five I's runs to beat Greensboro 5-1. Bakker in his first start as an Intimidator went five strong innings taking a no hitter through the fourth. Bakker walked three and struck out four getting his first victory 1-0.

The Intimidators got on the board in the first when Sean Smith doubled to left, stole third, and came home on a David Cook RBI groundout. Bernie Gonzalez scored in the second on an Adam Ricks sacrifice fly to right. Gonzalez was 2-4 with two runs and an RBI. The Intimidators blew the game open in the sixth with three runs on two hits and a Greensboro error.

John Hurd gave the I's three innings of relief allowing just two hits, no runs, and striking out three. Matt Zaleski closed it up yielding a run on two hits in the ninth.

Kannapolis will host Greensboro for the third and final time Sunday afternoon at 5:05pm. Jack Egbert (5-3 2.89) against David Humen (0-0 4.07).
