Toledo's Magic Number To Clinch Is Nine

When the Toledo Mud Hens take the field in Charlotte on Tuesday night, their magic number to clinch the IL West division will be nine (9) games. The Hens are leading the west by 5.5 games over the Indianapolis Indians with a record of 79-51.

Toledo's magic number to clinch a playoff spot is down to five (5) games.

**RHP Joel Zumaya has 190 strikeouts this season (between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo). That total currently ranks #1 among all minor league pitchers. Rich Hill of Triple-A Iowa (Cubs) and Francisco Liriano of Triple-A Richmond (Braves) are currently tied for second with 185 strikeouts. Zumaya will pitch for Toledo on Thursday night in Norfolk, VA.

**So far, the Mud Hens have sold over 12,000 individual tickets for the 2005 playoff games that would be played at Fifth Third Field. The Hens could host as many as five (5) playoff games during the two rounds.

First Base Gate is located at 406 Washington Street near the corner of St. Clair Street. Home Plate Gate is located at the corner of Washington and Huron Streets.

**All field level tickets for post-season games will be priced at $10.00.

The Toledo Mud Hens have made the playoffs just twice in the last 20 years. In 2002, Toledo won the IL West and was swept 3-0 by the Durham Bulls. In 1984, Toledo was swept in the first round by Maine 3-0. The last playoff win for Toledo came in 1980 as they beat Rochester three games to one in the first round and then fell to Columbus four games to one in round two.
