Toledo Signs Waltze

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have signed free-agent forward Kris Waltze to a contract.

Waltze appeared in 30 games last season with the Toledo Storm scoring 1 goal and adding 3 assists. In those 30 contests, Kris picked up 169 penalty minutes. Waltze also had 3 points in just four playoff games with the Storm.

Waltze said of his return " I'm excited to come back to Toledo and to play for the Storm. I love the intensity of the league and I am excited to play again with guys like Alexander Jacques and Doug Teskey."

This year, Kris picked up 2 assists and 51 penalty minutes in 18 games with the Austin Ice Bats of the Central Hockey League (CHL). Waltze appeared in 2 games with the Memphis Riverkings of the CHL until they placed him on waivers.

Waltze will arrive in Toledo tomorrow and is expected to be in the Storm lineup on Friday in Wheeling.
