Todd Perry Assigned To Royals

Reading Royals News Release


Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Todd Perry has been assigned by the Marlies to Reading. Also, in separate transactions previously completed, forwards Alex Berry and Rob Slaney were recalled from Reading to the Marlies. The Royals also announced that forward Chase Watson has returned to the team from bereavement leave.

Berry (6'3/215) (23), a third year pro from Ingleside, Ontario, has registered three points (1g-2a) and thirty-five penalty minutes in twenty-six games with the Marlies this season. Prior to turning pro, Berry played three seasons of major junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League and was a member of the 2006-07 London Knights who won the OHL regular season championship. He began his pro career with the Columbia Inferno of the ECHL and has played a total of 159 pro games-104 in the AHL. In his latest stint with the Royals, Berry played three games with Reading, which included a career high three-assist game in Reading's 6-2 win over the Elmira Jackals on March 19. In two separate stints with the Royals, Slaney has registered eleven points (1g-10a11pts) and twenty-two penalty minutes in twenty-two total games.

The Royals return to action on Wednesday (March 24, 2010 @ 7:05) when the team kicks off a season long six game road trip in Gwinnett, Georgia, against the Gwinnett Gladiators. The Royals game night broadcast on the Royals Radio Network presented by Transmissions by Arbogast will begin at 6:35 pm.
