Prince George, B.C. - The Prince George Cougars are pleased to announce that 20-year-old forward Todd Fiddler (Meadow Lake, SK) has been named WHL Player of the Month for January.

In 14 January games, Fiddler scored 16 goals and added 13 assists for 29 points. Five of Fiddler's 16 goals came on the power play while two were scored shorthanded. His month was further highlighted by three separate hat-tricks and three separate five-point games.

Since joining the Prince George Cougars in early November 2013 (after a trade with the Moose Jaw Warriors), Fiddler has exploded offensively. In 35 games, he has scored 30 goals and added 29 assists for 59 points.

In 263 career games (Prince George, Moose Jaw, Spokane, Prince Albert, Medicine Hat) Fiddler has scored 109 career goals, 103 assists and is a +19 for his career.

"Todd has been a huge addition to our team," said Prince George Cougars Head Coach Mark Holick after hearing the news. "Since he arrived he has greatly helped our offense, our power play, and has fit in really well with the rest of the team in our dressing room."

Fiddler and the Cougars have just returned from a lengthy Saskatchewan road trip where they finished 4-2. The Cougars have won four consecutive games and will look to extend that streak on Friday night when they welcome the Red Deer Rebels to town for the first of back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday at the CN Centre.

Fans are reminded that Prince George Cougars tickets are available through Ticketmaster at 250-564-5585.
