PEORIA, IL (March 6, 2005) â Alfie Michaud and the Peoria Rivermen continued their dominance of the Trenton Titans with a 3-0 shutout victory in front of 4,858 at Carver Arena.
It was a goaltender's duel until 1:32 of the third period, when Justin Maiser put a backhand over Andrew Allen to break the scoreless tie.
Captain Trevor Baker extended the Rivermen's lead to two goals with his 12th of the season with 4:57 remaining in regulation. Tyler Rennette tallied an empty-netter for Peoria to complete the scoring.
Michaud stopped all 31 shots he faced as Peoria now has won five in row. The Rivermen goalie has allowed just three goals in going 4-0-0 versus Trenton this season.
Allen turned away 22 of 24 shots in falling to 18-9-3. The Titans were 0-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
