Pride win second straight

FLORENCE, SC -- The Pee Dee Pride defeated the Augusta Lynx 6-1 on Sunday afternoon in front of 1,858 fans at the Florence Civic Center.

Augusta scored its only goal just 2:28 into the contest as Brian Passmore slid a rebound past Pride goaltender Nick Boucher for his fourth goal of the season.

Pee Dee got on the scoreboard with just 20 seconds left in the opening period as Jan Vodrazka blasted a shot past Jason Saal from the blue line.

The Pride siezed control of the game in the middle period, scoring three goals. Pee Dee added a pair of goals in the final period to set the final.

Vodrazka, Jake Wiegand and Ben Knopp all notched a goal and an assist in the win.

Pee Dee hits the road on Tuesday, traveling to Charlotte for a 7:00 match-up with the Checkers. All of the action on WDAR Sunny 105.5 and www.peedeepride.com starts with the Palmetto Chiropractic Pre-Game Show at 6:40.

Next weekend, the Pride are home for three games in three nights. Thursday, the Pride host the Columbia Inferno at 7:00 on another Thirsty Thursday. All draft beer is just $2. Friday, the Pride take on the Pensacola Ice Pilots, and on Saturday, the Gwinnett Gladiators come to town, with both games starting at 7:30.
