
'Tips Fall At Lethbridge, 3-2

Lethbridge, AB - The Everett Silvertips fell for the first time on their season long seven game road trip to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, 3-2 Wednesday night at Enmax Centre. Byron Froese scored for his second straight game bringing the Silvertips forward to seven on the season. Kellan Tochkin collected an assist on Chris Langkow's third period goal to extend his point streak to five games. Shane Harper tallied his team leading 21st point, collecting an assist on the Langkow goal. Despite the loss Everett's penalty kill stopped all four Lethbridge power play opportunities moving the Silvertips to 23 for 23 on the penalty kill during their current road trip.
The Hurricanes got on the board first Wednesday night at 5:56 of the second period when Austin Fyten picked up the puck out of the corner before heading to the net to beat Kent Simpson low, giving Lethbridge the 1-0 lead. The Silvertips answered just one minute and two seconds later when Froese carried the puck into the zone, drifted to the right and shot to his left beating Lethbridge goalie Brandon Anderson low to tie the score. Lethbridge took the lead at 14:57 after Mitch Maxwell scored his 10th of the season making the score 2-1 at the end of 40 minutes of play.
Maxwell struck again for the Hurricanes at 2:39 of the third period to give Lethbridge the 3-1 lead. Langkow brought the Silvertips within one at 12:31, skating the puck through the low slot Langkow out waited Anderson before a backhand goal brought the score to 3-2. Lethbridge was able to hold on to a 3-2 victory over the Everett Silvertips.
This brings the 'Tips record to 10-5-0-0 with 20 points in 15 games played. The Silvertips continue their seven game road trip Friday night, November 6 th with a 6:00pm start against the Calgary Hitmen.
