
Rockets Win Over PG

The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Prince George Cougars 5-4 in a shootout on Wednesday night as Tyson Barrie and Adam Brown combined on the victory in extra time.
Barrie was the only Kelowna player to score in the shootout while Brown stopped all three Cougars shooters as Kelowna improved to 9-7-1-0 in the WHL BC division.
Kelowna jumped out of the gates quickly, scoring twice in the game's first eight minutes on goals by Mitchell Callahan and Brandon McMillan.
The Cougars made a game of it though, scoring twice in the period as James Dobrowolski (Vernon) had both PG goals in the period, making it 2-2 after the first period.
In the second, Cougars forward Nick Buonassisi put Prince George on top 3-2 before Kelowna's Kyle St. Denis tipped in a power play marker on a nice pass from Shane McColgan to tie the game at 3-3 and send the team's to the dressing room locked in a tie through 40 minutes
The teams exchanged goals early in the third period. Spencer Main scored to give the Rockets a 4-3 lead before the Cougars Robbi Ciolfi tied it up at 4-4 just two minutes later.
A scoreless overtime sent the game to the shootout and the Rockets win.
Notes:
-Attendance was another sellout crowd of 6,051, the Rockets 11th sellout of the season.
-Next Wednesday's game vs. the Red Deer Rebels is a special 2 p.m. start from Prospera Place in honour of Remembrance Day.
