Brandon, Manitoba -- Fresh off a 7-game, thirteen Western Hockey League road trip the Brandon Wheat Kings return to the friendly confines of Westman Place this weekend for back to back games Friday and Saturday nights against Prince Albert and Medicine Hat.

The Wheat Kings, who compiled a 4-2-0-1 record during the trip, enter the weekend with a record of 10-7-0-2, good for 22 points and third place in the WHL's Eastern Division - two point back of the second place Moose Jaw Warriors.

Prince Albert meanwhile is 9-8-0-1 and sits three points behind Brandon, with a game in hand. The Tigers are 9-8-2-2 and are in second place in the WHL's Central Division.

In recognition of what should be an exciting 2010 for not only the city of Brandon, but the entire province, Friday's game will give western Manitoba hockey fans the opportunity to learn more about plans for next year's Manitoba Homecoming.

Manitoba Homecoming is going to be a year long celebration in 2010 to bring visitors, former and current Manitobans together, for festivals, parties and events such as the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup, scheduled for May 14-23rd in Brandon.

Manitoba Homecoming 2010 will focus on the rich culture and traditions of Manitoba. As will be the case with the Memorial Cup, which is expected to inject over ten million dollars into the local economy, it will generate positive economic benefits that will be a platform for a longer term legacy. This special initiative will highlight the strengths of Manitoba's communities and people, showcase the many new developments around the province and share the strong spirit of Manitobans throughout our 140th birthday celebrations.

Friday's game will be the first of five in a row to be played in Brandon. In addition to Saturday's game against the Tigers, the Wheat Kings will host Prince George on Remembrance Day, November 11th, the Eastern Division leading Saskatoon Blades on Friday, November 13th and Regina on Sunday, the 15th.

Tickets for all five games are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca.
