Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett faltered on home ice Friday night as the Spokane Chiefs earned a 6-4 win at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Penalty trouble hampered the Spokane Chiefs early, as Dominik Rymon blasted a one-timer home on the man advantage at 9:47 for his 26th of the year. The Chiefs were dinged with another penalty just 13 seconds after play resumed- a powerplay that Jesse Heslop converted on for a 2-0 Everett lead.

Layton Feist countered with a goal on the man advantage to halve the deficit for Spokane, but a Ben Hemmerling tuck-in goal at 15:45 sent the Tips into the first intermission up 3-1. Hemmerling's tally was his 20th of the season, the fifth Tip to reach the 20-goal plateau.

Spokane came out firing in the second period, potting three goals in the first six minutes of play in the frame to leapfrog past the Silvertips. A Rymon powerplay tally at 14:45 evened the game at four goals a side headed into the third period.

With the Tips killing a double-minor penalty in the third period, Berkly Catton slipped a shot through the five-hole of Tyler Palmer for the game-winning tally at 8:40 in the third. A Saige Weinstein empty-netter in the final minute sealed a 6-4 final.

Dawson Cowan stopped 42 of 46 in the win.
