Tip-A-GreenJacket Luncheon Big Success at Stonecrest

Augusta, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets and Stonecrest Southern Steakhouse benefit luncheon on Monday, June 9 turned out to be a big success. The luncheon featured players from the current GreenJackets squad and raised over $2,000 dollars to help support Golden Harvest Food Bank

"We were extremely happy with the turnout from the fans and the support from the local community," GreenJackets General Manager Nick Brown said. "Hopefully this will lead to some more charity events in the community."

Some of the current GreenJackets players that showed up to help serve food were South Atlantic League Southern Division All-Stars Daryl Maday and Daniel Otero. Also helping out at the event was infielder Skyler Stromsmoe and pitchers Chance Corgan and Orlando Yntema.

There were over 60 fans that came out to participate in the luncheon and the silent auction. The luncheon raised $1,530 while the silent auction raised $595 and the tips from the players included $449 for a total amount raised of $2,574.

Proceeds raised from the luncheon went to benefit the Golden Harvest Food Bank. Golden Harvest Food Bank is a locally-supported, non-profit, food distribution organization that helps provide food to the hungry in the CSRA.
