June 17, 2016 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Waterloo Bucks News Release
Waterloo, Iowa - The Waterloo Bucks are inviting fans to The Other Place on Ridgeway Avenue on Monday, June 20 for Tip-A-Buck. Starting at 6:00 pm, Bucks players and coaches will act as waiters, serving customers drinks and dinner throughout the evening.
Each table will have a "tip" envelope, where all tips for the Bucks wait staff will go to the Bucks Summer Reading Program. Fans will also have chances to win autographed baseballs, an autographed bat, and other Bucks items through a raffle.
With the support of Upper Iowa University Waterloo Center, Panchero's Mexican Grill, and Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, the Waterloo Bucks Summer Reading Program encourages reading throughout the summer in the Cedar Valley. Throughout April and May, the Bucks' mascot Bucky visited elementary schools throughout the Cedar Valley as part of the reading program. The students are rewarded with prizes for reaching reading levels ranging from 250 minutes to 1,000 minutes.
Elementary aged kids throughout the Cedar Valley are invited to take part in the Waterloo Bucks Summer Reading Program. Reading scorecards can be downloaded by clicking this link: http://northwoodsleague.com/waterloo-bucks/wp-content/uploads/sites/9/2015/04/2016-Waterloo-Reading-Scorecard-2.pdf. Prizes can be claimed in the Waterloo Bucks Souvenir Store at Riverfront Stadium by showing your reading scorecard at any level to redeem your prize.
The Other Place - Ridgeway is located at 360 E. Ridgeway Avenue in Waterloo. Bucks players, coaches and front office staff will be available for autographs and photographs. The general public is welcome to attend the event.
The Bucks finish a three-game road trip tonight in La Crosse, facing the Loggers at 7:05 pm. The team then returns to Waterloo to start a two-game homestand versus the Thunder Bay Border Cats. First pitch for the first game of the series is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Saturday, June 18.
The Bucks play at Riverfront Stadium where the team welcomed a new state of the art video board in 2016 thanks to a matching grant from the Black Hawk County Gaming Association. Team ownership has invested more than $170,000 in improvements since the end of the 2014 season including painted bleachers, public Wi-Fi, sound system, group outing areas, and concessions equipment. Season tickets, individual game tickets, and group outings are currently on sale by calling the Bucks' Ticket Line at (319) 232-5633. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch during the season with the Bucks by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com or utilizing the Waterloo Bucks app.
