Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - The road trip continues as the Bullfrogs finish up a two game set against the Eau Claire Express. Last night the Bullfrogs dropped the first game 6-2 after taking a lead into the 7th inning. The Bullfrogs record now stands at 6-11, 2-3 on current road trip.
The Bullfrogs got a strong start from left hander Stuart Springer (St. Edwards). Springer went five plus innings of work, giving up one run on eight hits. He earned the no decision.
The offense got started early for the Bullfrogs. Jonah Davis (UC-Berkeley) led the third inning off with a solo home run to right field. Randell Kanemaru (Columbia) followed up scoring a run on a fielder's choice hit by Parker Coss (UC-Irvine).
Heading into the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bullfrogs were hanging on to a one run lead. With a runner at first, Dalton Varsho (Milwaukee) sent a two run home run over the right center field fence to take the lead for the Express. That lead would only increase as in the bottom the eight, the Express scored three runs on three walks, one error, and one hit in the inning.
Tonight the Bullfrogs will send lefty Dakota Klein to the mound. The freshman from Texas A&M will make his third start of the season. He is currently 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA.
For the Express, Caleb Boushley (UW-La Crosse) gets the ball. This will be Boushley third start of the season, he currently is 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA.
First pitch is at 7:05pm.
