TRENDING UP: Since returning from the DL with a blister a second time on June 10, MacKenzie Gore holds a 1.50 ERA in 5 starts. MacKenzie has thrown 18 innings, allowed 12 hits, 5 walks, and has struck out 22. In his last 2 starts, Gore hasn't allowed an earned run in 10 innings of work with 11 Ks.

FROM THE FORT TO THE FUTURE: On Friday, Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the MLB Futures Game on Sunday, July 15 at Nationals Park, in advance of the MLB All-Star Game. 4 recent TinCaps have been honored with selections for the game: shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (2017), outfielder Buddy Reed (2017), right-handed pitcher Enyel De Los Santos (2016), and second baseman Luis Urías (2015). Tatis, De Los Santos, and Urías will be on the World roster, while Reed will play for Team USA. Tatis is currently starring with Double-A San Antonio. Reed is with High-A Lake Elsinore. Urías is with Triple-A El Paso. De Los Santos was traded to the Phillies during the offseason and is with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

ROSTER MOVES: Infielder Justin Lopez has been placed on the TinCaps' Disabled List after breaking his thumb Friday in a collision with BG's Vidal Brujan. In the top of the fifth inning, Brujan stole second base. Lopez was playing shortstop and covering the bag on the play. Brujan's helmet made contact with Lopez's left, glove-hand, knocking his glove off. Kevin Melean, a 19-year-old infielder from Venezuela, has been added to Fort Wayne's roster from High-A Lake Elsinore. Melean slashed .263/.305/.326 in 49 games with the Storm in the California League. In his MiLB career that began in 2016, he's played 106 games at shortstop, 29 at third base, and 20 at second... On Sunday the Padres transferred righty reliever Caleb Boushley to Triple-A El Paso... He has rejoined the TinCaps today.

NOT ALL LOST: Although the TinCaps have dropped their last 3 games, they've still won 11 of their last 16. During these 16 games, Fort Wayne has outscored its opponents 75-49.

2ND-HALF RACE: The TinCaps are tied for 2nd place in the Midwest League Eastern Division 2nd half standings with Lansing, while Bowling Green is in 1st. But, Lansing and Bowling Green don't actually factor into the 2nd-half playoff race since they clinched spots in the 1st half. So effectively, the 'Caps have a 1-game lead on South Bend and a 2-game lead on West Michigan.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is tied for 3rd in runs (55), 9 in walks (45), and 6th in OBP (.390)... Esteury Ruiz is 3rd in SB (32)... Robbie Podorsky is tied for 9th in SB (19)... Travis Radke is 3rd in saves (11).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 9th in BB% (14%) and 7th in BB/K (0.73), 8th in LD% (24%)... Tirso Ornelas has the 8th lowest Swing & Miss% (7%).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted a 2.87 ERA over the last 68 games since April 25. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA.
