Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Great Lakes Loons (affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers) in the last game of a four-game series.

Last Game: Sunday: Great Lakes 7, Dayton 5. The Loons battled back from a 4-0 deficit after one-half inning and a 5-2 deficit going to the bottom of the sixth to win their second straight game over the Dragons. Devin Mann was 4 for 5 with a home run for the Loons. The Dragons collected 12 hits including three by Lorenzo Cedrola, and Hendrik Clementina had a two-run home run. It was a tough day for the Dayton bullpen, which combined to allow five runs over the sixth and seventh innings as Great Lakes came back to win.

2018 Team Notes

The Dragons have won or split their last four sets, going 8-6 over that period. They need a win tonight to split the series with Great Lakes.

The Dragons have allowed three runs or less in 10 of their 18 second half games. Their second half ERA is 4.01 (5.31 in the first half). Outside of two high-scoring games vs. South Bend, the Dragons team ERA in the second half would be 3.19 in the other 16 games (141 IP, 50 ER). The Midwest League average team ERA in 2018 is 3.91.

Greene Day: Dragons pitcher Hunter Greene has been selected to play in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures game at Nationals Park in Washington on Sunday, July 15. Former Dragons outfielder Taylor Trammell, now with Daytona, was also selected.

2018 Individual Notes

Hunter Greene over his last nine starts: 46.1 IP, 35 H, 15 R, 14 ER, 10 BB, 54 SO, 2.72 ERA. Greene has made 16 starts. His ERA in his first seven starts was 10.06. Greene was selected as the Cincinnati Reds Minor League Co-Pitcher of the Month for June.

Packy Naughton over his last two starts: 13 IP, 9 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 8 SO, 0.00 ERA. Naughton has a current streak of 14 scoreless innings, the longest of the year by a Dayton pitcher.

Jose Garcia is batting .320 over his last 12 games. The streak has lifted Garcia's average from .196 to .218.

Leandro Santana is batting .293 over his last 22 games to raise his season's average from .190 to .228.

Jeter Downs is batting .300 with two home runs and a .427 on-base percentage in the second half.

J.D. Williams is batting .333 in his last seven games. He had a six-game hitting streak snapped on Sunday.

John Ghyzel leads the MWL in saves with 16. Ghyzel was the winning pitcher in the MWL All-Star Game on June 19.
