Ronaldo Hernandez Named June Player of the Month

SAINT PETERSBURG, FL - The Bowling Green Hot Rods and Minor League Baseball announced that Hot Rods C Ronaldo Hernandez was named the Midwest League Player of the Month for his work at the plate in the month of June

In June, Hernandez hit .366 with 20 runs scored, six doubles, a triple, and 10 home runs. He also batted in 25 runs and stole three bases. His ten home runs lead the Midwest League for the month. He also had 17 extra base hits, 68 total bases, an .829 slugging percentage, and a 1.277 OPS, all of which lead the league. His 20 runs were also second in the league, 25 RBI third, and his .366 average was fourth.

"Ronaldo had a terrific month," Hot Rods Manager Craig Albernaz said. "He has certainly helped lead our offense not just recently, but really the entire season. I'm glad to see him get recognized for his efforts."

Hernandez and the Hot Rods return home after an off day Tuesday for a six game home stand against Kane County and Quad Cities. First pitch from Bowling Green Ballpark will be at 6:35pm CST Wednesday.
