LAST GAME: The TinCaps jumped ahead of the Lake County Captains early on Saturday night, and never looked back in a 10-2 win. RF Agustin Ruiz blasted his 9th HR of the season, moving him into a tie for 2nd in the league. DH Tirso Ornelas doubled three times, taking the league-lead in doubles away from LC's Will Brennan. SS Justin Lopez also homered in the affair.
SAN DIEGO SUNDAY: The TinCaps will wear their brown and gold San Diego Padres jerseys today on "San Diego Sunday". The 'Caps will wear these jerseys for every Sunday home game this season. Today's starter, RHP Anderson Espinoza, will be wearing #23 today, the same number TinCaps alum and superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. dons with the Padres at the MLB level.
BULL(PEN)DOZING: The TinCaps bullpen has excelled over the past two nights against Lake County. In the 'pen's last 9.1 IP, the quartet of Cody Tyler, Sam Keating, Felix Minjarez, and Brandon Komar have allowed just 3 H and 1 ER.
ESPY DAY: TinCaps starter Anderson Espinoza makes his 2nd start of the series this afternoon. Espinoza, after nearly five years away from Minor League Baseball, threw a season-high 55 pitches in his last outing, and ran his fastball up to 97 miles-per-hour. Anderson is the No. 12 prospect in the Padres' system, per MLB.com.
SO GREAT TO HAVE YOU BACK: Last night, the TinCaps welcomed in 4,331 people to Parkview Field for Fireworks Night, presented by Aunt Millie's. The crowd was the largest of the 2021 season to this point. The team announced this past Tuesday that every seat at Parkview Field will be available for purchase for games from June 29th on. Tickets for the remainder of the 2021 season are set to go on sale next Tuesday, June 15th, at 10:00 a.m.
