Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors swept a two-game weekend series with the Utah Grizzlies last week, putting up a 2-1-0 record on their three-game road trip heading into the holiday week. G Timo Pielmeier's empty net goal on Saturday night highlighted the weekend for the Condors

Bakersfield remains in first place in the Pacific Division since the start of the season - their longest stretch at the top of their division in team history. With a record of 18-7-2 and 38 points, they own a nine-point lead over the second place Ontario Reign and a 15 point lead over the Stockton Thunder and Las Vegas Wranglers, who are tied for third.

ONTARIO 2 vs. Condors 1

The Ontario Reign scored twice in the first period and held on for a 2-1 win over the Condors on Wednesday night. LW Ryan Donally scored his first goal as a Condor, in his first game with the team, in the final minute of play. The Reign withstood a last-second flurry by Bakersfield to take the victory, and managed just nine shots on goal over the final two periods after taking the 2-0 lead.

Friday, Dec. 18

Condors 3 vs. UTAH 2

Bakersfield ended a four-game road winless skid (0-2-2) with a hard-fought 3-2 win in Utah. F Stephane Goulet scored late in the second period to erase a 2-1 deficit, and C Gino Guyer notched his 4th of the season at 10:22 of the third to provide the final margin. G Timo Pielmeier stopped 23 shots for the win, while F Mathieu Aubin had two assists in the game.

Saturday, Dec. 19

Condors 6 vs. UTAH 4

G Timo Pielmeier made Condors history by scoring an empty net goal in the final moments of a 6-4 victory for Bakersfield, capping off a weekend sweep and the Condors fourth-straight win against the Grizzlies this season. F Stephane Goulet had two goals and an assist and nine players recorded a point in the triumph.

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:

- The Condors are 13-2-2 in their last 17 games. They still own a 10-game home winning streak, dating back to Nov. 7.

- G Timo Pielmeier is the first goaltender to score a goal in Condors history, and the 10th to do so in ECHL history. He is the youngest goalie to light the lamp, however, at just 20 years, 165 days old.

- Pielmeier has started 10 consecutive games in net for Bakersfield and is 9-1-2 in his last 12 starts.

- F Mathieu Aubin has a three-game point streak (1g-4a) and F Stephane Goulet has a two-game streak (3g-1a), while LW Shawn Weller has a point in 10 of his last 12 games (5g-8a).

- RW Dan Sexton, who hasn't played since Nov. 22 in the ECHL, still ranks 5th among rookie scorers with 26 points and is tied for 2nd among rookies with 13 goals. Sexton is tied for 11th on the Ducks in scoring with seven points (4g-3a) in eight games, and is tied for the team lead with a +3.

- The Condors have out-shot their opponents in 22 of their 27 games.

- C Gino Guyer (pictured) has four goals this season - three of those were game-winning goals and the other was a game-tying goal, forcing overtime.

ON THE DOCKET:

The Condors will get an opportunity to extend their home winning streak to 11 games on Friday, Dec. 26 against the Stockton Thunder. That night the first 2,000 kids 12 and under will get a Condors Street Hockey Set, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, HOT 94.1 and Carl's Jr. The doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m. It's also Boxing Day Celebration, inviting fans to box up their unwanted goods (since you're getting all sorts of new stuff for Christmas anyway!) and bring them to the game for donation to Goodwill Industries.

The team then heads back out on the road for games Sunday in Ontario (5 p.m.) and Tuesday in Stockton (7 p.m.) before returning home next weekend.
