Utah Grizzlies News Release
The Situation
The Grizzlies enter the week with a 14-10-2-0 record as they return to action Saturday at the E-Center with their eighth of 14 meetings this season with the Idaho Steelheads. The game will again feature first and second place in the West Division.
Last Call For Idaho
The Grizzlies and Steelheads will meet for the final time of the season at the E-Center Saturday when Idaho visits for the sixth time already. Starting, January 13, the two teams will meet six more times at the Qwest Arena in Boise.
Power-Play Resurgence
The Utah power-play has scored six goals in the last two games, including a season-high four power-play goals Saturday after going three-straight games without a power-play goal for the first time this season. The team was one power-play goal shy of tying an all-time team record of five power-play goals in a game, which they have done twice in their history and most recently January 5, 2007 in Alaska.
Maxwell At Home
Tim Maxwell had a career-high three assists Saturday night for the Grizzlies and has two goals and eight assists for 10 points in his last 12 home games.
AJ Perry
AJ Perry has scored five of the Grizzlies last eight goals and has a four-game goal scoring streak entering Saturday. A goal in five-straight games will tie him with Tom May for a team season-high with a goal in five consecutive games. May had a goal in five-straight games from November 25-December 4.
Grizzlies Version 2.0
With call-ups and other roster moves, the Grizzlies, just over two months into the season, have nine players on the current roster who were not with the team opening night in Las Vegas.
Looking for 60 Minutes
The Grizzlies have led in four of six games during their current winless streak and have scored first in three of the six games.
