Montgomery Biscuits News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Biscuits (45-46/10-11) went 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight on the bases including the tying run in the ninth inning during a 4-2 loss to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos in the series-opener Thursday night at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.

The Biscuits were 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position until Kes Carter ripped a double off the wall in the ninth inning. The double came with two and base and scored one to cut the lead to 4-2 Pensacola in the ninth. Carter's drive missed leaving the ballpark by feat. Ryan Brett - the potential go-ahead run - followed by flying out to center.

Although the Biscuits collected eighth hits off of Daniel Corcino (8-7) the only run scored of the Wahoos' starter came with Alejandro Segovia's solo home run in the second inning to tie the game at one. Corcino finished by going seven innings and striking out six with only one walk.

Pensacola was able to chip away at the Southern League's reigning pitcher of the week, Dylan Floro. The right-hander matched a season-high by allowing eleven his. The Wahoos got him for one run in the first and second innings. They would add a run in the fifth with a fly ball from Josh Fellhauer that was lost in the twilight resulting in a triple. Ryan Wright followed with a single to drive in the run. Travis Mattair ripped an RBI-double in the sixth to make it a 4-1 game.

Game two of the series is Friday night at 6:37. RH Albert Suarez will throw for the Biscuits while RH Jon Moscot will be on the hill for Pensacola.
