Leverton to Disabled List; Fisher to GCL Marlins for Rehab

KODAK, Tenn. - The Miami Marlins announced a series of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Tennessee Smokies at Smokies Stadium at 7:15 p.m.

Left-handed relief pitcher James Leverton has been placed on the disabled list, retroactive to July 8, with left triceps tendinitis. Leverton pitched in seven games, going 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA in eight and two-thirds innings.

Also infielder Ryan Fisher has been transferred from the Suns disabled list to a rehab assignment to the GCL Marlins. Fisher was originally placed on the disabled list on May 25 with a right knee contusion. Fisher was hitting .207 with five homers and 15 RBI in 36 games earlier this season with Jacksonville.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players and a revised roster is attached.

Tonight the Suns start a five-game series against the Tennessee Smokies at Smokies Stadium, with first pitch set for 7:15 p.m.
