PORTLAND, Ore. - Facing a quick turnaround, the Portland Timbers play host to Toronto FC in a midweek match, presented by Frost Brewed Coors Light, on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at Providence Park, before taking on the New England Revolution in a road match at Gillette Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 1. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), Wednesday's match against Toronto FC will be broadcast live on ROOT SPORTS, while Saturday's game against the Revolution will be broadcast live on FOX 12 PLUS (KPDX), beginning at 4:30 p.m. (Pacific). Both matches will feature local radio broadcasts on 750 AM/102.9 FM The Game (English) and La GranD 1150 AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).

Against the Eastern Conference

Since 2016, Portland (10-7-7, 37pts) has posted a mark of 8-1-5 against Eastern Conference opponents at Providence Park. Notably, the Timbers are 2-0-1 all-time against Toronto FC at Providence Park. In 2018 at home against the Eastern Conference, Portland is 2-0-1, outscoring opponents 8-2 with two shutouts. The Timbers are 2-1-5 all-time against New England and have earned at least one point in their last two road games against the Revolution.

Scouting Toronto FC

Toronto FC (7-12-6, 27pts) visits Portland after earning a 3-2 win at home over the Montreal Impact on Aug. 25, receiving a first-half brace from Sebastian Giovinco. Toronto FC has earned at least one point in five of its last six matches (3-1-2), while Giovinco has tallied six goals and three assists during that span. In 2018, Giovinco has tallied 10 goals and ranks tied for third in MLS with 12 assists.

Scouting the Revolution

The Revolution (7-10-8, 25pts) have suffered three consecutive losses. Most recently, New England fell 1-0 on the road to the Philadelphia Union on Aug. 25. The Revolution have registered six of their seven wins this season at home. Teal Bunbury ranks among the top 10 in the league in goals scored (11), while Cristian Penilla and Diego Fagundez have scored nine and seven goals, respectively.

Next match

The Timbers return to the Rose City to play host to the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, Sept. 8, at Providence Park. The Sept. 8 match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and features a local television broadcast on FOX 12 PLUS (KPDX) and local radio broadcasts on 750 AM/102.9 FM The Game (English) and La GranD 1150 AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).

Throughout the season, "Timbers in 30," hosted by Jake Zivin and Ross Smith, will offer inside access to the club and provide analysis with in-studio appearances from Timbers coaches and players. Radio: "Talk Timbers"

The Timbers' weekly radio talk show, "Talk Timbers," airs every Wednesday evening beginning at 6 p.m. (Pacific) on flagship station 750 The Game. "Talk Timbers" provides team and league news as well as interviews with Timbers coaches and players during the season, and also features regular updates on T2 and Portland Thorns FC. Due to the team's regular-season schedule, Talk Timbers will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
