
Timbers to Face New York City FC Tonight in MLS Is Back Tournament Quarterfinal

The Portland Timbers will square off against New York City FC in the Quarterfinals of the MLS is Back Tournament tonight, Saturday, Aug. 1 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific), at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The match will feature a national broadcast on FS1, with local radio broadcasts on 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
Tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes of play, the Timbers advanced to the Quarterfinals of the MLS is Back Tournament with a 4-2 win on penalty kicks in the Round of 16 match against FC Cincinnati on July 28. For a second consecutive match, Jaroslaw Niezgoda scored for Portland, while Sebastián Blanco delivered an assist against Cincinnati in his fourth consecutive match. Blanco's four assists rank as the second-most in the MLS is Back Tournament, while Jeremy Ebobisse leads the team with three goals scored in the competition. Notably, Diego Chara enters tonight's match having made 299 appearances for the Timbers across all competitions, which is the most in club history.
NYCFC advanced to the quarterfinal round of the MLS is Back Tournament, after a 3-1 win over Toronto FC on July 26 behind goals from ValentÃÂn Castellanos, Jesús Medina and Maximiliano Moralez.
