Portland Timbers News Release
The Portland Timbers are set to take on FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium tonight, Saturday, April 22 in the two clubs' first matchup since 2020. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. (Pacific) and will be streamed live on MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app in English and Spanish as well as local radio broadcasts, 750 The Game (English) and La GranD 1150AM/93.5 FM (Spanish).
Tonight's match marks the second time Portland and Cincinnati will square off in MLS regular season play, and third in all competitions. It is the first time the Timbers will play at TQL Stadium. The last time the two met in regular season play on March 17, 2019, Portland traveled to play in Cincinnati's inaugural home opener at Nippert Stadium falling 3-0. The Timbers also faced FC Cincinnati in the 2020 MLS Is Back Tournament knockout stages where the two sides drew 1-1 before Portland knocked them out in a shootout to advance. Last week, Portland downed Cascadia rival Seattle Sounders FC 4-1 at Providence Park. Four different players scored a goal in the match (Dairon Asprilla, Nathan Fogaça, Jaroslaw Niezgoda, Juan David Mosquera) and four registered assists (Claudio Bravo, Santiago Moreno, Mosquera, Cristhian Paredes). Mosquera leads the team in points with six (2G, 2A) as well as successful dribbles (16) and duels won (54), ranking in the top 15 amongst all MLS players in those categories this season.
