San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (4-2-2; 14 pts.) will face Real Salt Lake (2-5-0; 6 pts.) tonight at America First Field in Sandy, Utah. The match kicks off at 6:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed globally on Apple TV's MLS Season Pass, as well as on local radio via 810 AM The Spread (English) and 1370 KZSF (Spanish).
San Jose is looking for its first road win of the season and first at America First Field since Oct. 30, 2021. The Earthquakes have defeated the Utah side in four of their last eight matches (4-3-1). Following a 3-0 home victory vs. Sporting Kansas City last weekend, the Quakes currently sit in fifth place in the 14-team Western Conference.
The Earthquakes are headlined by early MLS Best XI contender Cristian Espinoza, who currently leads the club in goals (5) and leads MLS in key passes (20) and chances created (26). Forward Jeremy Ebobisse will also look to continue his goalscoring momentum after scoring two goals against Sporting KC last week, marking his seventh multi-goal game of his MLS career.
Real Salt Lake, currently in 12th place in the Western Conference, have struggled at home in 2023, only winning one of three home games so far this season. Venezuelan forward Jefferson Savarino leads RSL with two goals and two assists, scoring one goal in the last two matches.
