Timbers, Real Salt Lake Play to Scoreless Draw at Providence Park

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake played to a scoreless draw at Providence Park on Saturday night. With the draw, Portland extended its unbeaten streak to three matches, recording its second straight shutout. Timbers goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic earned his third shutout of the campaign, registering two saves in the match.

Recent Form With Stingy Defense

Portland has registered consecutive shutouts, including tonight's match and the team's 0-0 draw on the road against Houston Dynamo FC on April 16. In its last two matches, Portland has limited its opponents to just four total shots on target. Against RSL, the Timbers did not allow a shot on target until the 76th minute.

Timbers Against Real Salt Lake

Including the 2021 Western Conference final, Portland is unbeaten against Real Salt Lake in seven straight home matches (5-0-2), dating back to October 21, 2018. Since taking the helm in 2018, head coach Gio Savarese has a record of 7-1-2 against RSL. In that stretch of nine matches, Portland has outscored RSL 27-12.
