Red Bulls Defeat Orlando City SC, 3-0, at Exploria Stadium

The New York Red Bulls (4-2-2, 14 pts.) defeated Orlando City SC (4-3-2, 14 pts.), 2-0, on Sunday afternoon at Exploria Stadium.

The Red Bulls opened the scoring in the 26th minute, when midfielder Lewis Morgan played a ball down the left sideline for midfielder Omir Fernandez, who then slotted a ball across Orlando's eighteen-yard box. The ball found the foot of Luquinhas, who's shot attempt found the bottom left corner.

New York doubled their lead in the 48th minute, when Fernandez played forward Ashley Fletcher through between the Orlando City centerbacks and Fletcher layed a ball off to Cristian Cásseres, Jr., who's first attempt on goal was blocked, but he finished the rebound.

The Red Bulls added a third goal in the 88th minute, when New York were awarded a penalty kick, where Morgan stepped up and scored the penalty with his left foot.

The Red Bulls became the third team in MLS history to win its first four road matches of the season and the first since the Los Angeles Galaxy in 1998.

Luquinhas scored his first career MLS goal and now has one goal and two assists across all compeitions for New York this season.

Fernandez recorded his third assist of the season in MLS action and the sixth assist in his career. This was fifth assist he has recorded on the road in MLS career.

With the assist, Fernandez set a new career-high in assists in a single season beating out his previous of two from 2021.

New York has scored 11 goals on the road this season, which is tied for first in MLS.

Morgan scored his fourth MLS goal of the season, which is tied for first in MLS among active midfielders this season. He has recorded a goal in two-straight matches across all competitions.

The Scottish winger registered his second MLS assist with the Red Bulls and the 14th of his MLS career.

Since 2015, New York is 95-20-25 when scoring the first goal in a match, including a 4-1-1 mark this season.

The Red Bulls have earned 46 clean sheets on the road since 2010, which is tied for the fifth most in MLS during that timespan.

Coronel earned his third clean sheet of the season and his sixth career clean sheet on the road in his Red Bulls career. His three clean sheets this season ranks tied for fifth in MLS.

The Brazilian goalkeeper tied Bouna Coundoul for fourth place in franchise history in shutouts with 16.

Coronel tied Mike Amann for sixth place in franchise history for wins with 17.

The Red Bulls defense has only allowed six goals in eight matches this season, which ranks tied for the fourth lowest in MLS this season. The club has also only allowed two goals on the road in four matches, which ranks tied for third in MLS.

New York has an expected goals against of 3.08 on the road this season, which is the fourth lowest in MLS.

Cásseres, Jr. scored his first goal of the season and his 12th career MLS goal. He has now scored a goal in three-straight matches against Orlando City SC.

The Venezulan international has recorded seven of his 12 career MLS goals on the road.

In the 34th minute of today's match, New York captain Aaron Long eclipsed 10,000 MLS minutes with New York, becoming the 13th player in franchise history to accomplish that.

The Red Bulls are 8-1-1 in their last 10 MLS road matches, outscoring their opponents, 20-5.
