PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers extended their unbeaten streak to six straight matches with a 1-1 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Providence Park on Sunday night. After going down a goal in the first half, Portland rallied back with a late-game penalty kick from Felipe Mora to tie it up and earn a point. It marked his first goal of the 2022 campaign, and a fifth straight match with a penalty kick goal for the Timbers - an all-time MLS record.

With the result, the Timbers extended their unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3). Portland has earned 12 points in the last six matches dating back to June 18 (LA Galaxy, Colorado, Houston, Nashville, Seattle, Vancouver), including three road results in that stretch. Mora is the fourth different player to convert from the spot in Portland's five consecutive matches with a penalty kick goal (Asprilla, Blanco, Mora, Moreno (2)).
