San Jose Earthquakes News Release


The San Jose Earthquakes fell to Houston Dynamo FC 2-1 on Sunday at PayPal Park after defeating the LA Galaxy 3-2 on Wednesday at Dignity Health Sports Park. Since Alex Covelo took over as interim head coach on April 18, the Earthquakes are now 5-4-4, the 10th best record in MLS in that span.

The Earthquakes are now preparing for two matches this week, hosting Spain's RC Celta de Vigo in an international friendly at PayPal Park on Wednesday, July 20, before facing the Portland Timbers in MLS play at Providence Park on Saturday, July 23.

Wednesday's match is set for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on ESPN+. Tickets can be purchased . Saturday's game is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area, KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF.

Monteiro, Marcinkowski Selected to MLS Team of the Week

San Jose Earthquakes midfielder Jamiro Monteiro and goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski have been selected to Major League Soccer's Team of the Week for Week 20 following the Earthquakes' 3-2 road victory against the LA Galaxy on Wednesday. Monteiro was influential in the Quakes' win, playing all 90 minutes and tallying an assist on Ebobisse's goal. He now has seven assists this season and is two assists away from his career-high in 2019 (9). Monteiro has tallied three goals and seven assists in his last 11 appearances. Marcinkowski, Major League Soccer's saves leader (76), faced a season-high 10 shots on target and made a season-high eight saves in the victory.

Earthquakes to Host Special Soccer Clinic with Former USWNT Player Leslie Osborne

The Earthquakes announced last Tuesday a special soccer clinic instructed by former United States Women's National Team and World Cup player Leslie Osborne at PayPal Park on Friday, July 22 from 4:30-7 p.m. PT. All Quakes proceeds will be donated to local women organizations supporting reproductive rights and domestic violence. Each registration ticket includes a free Quakes t-shirt and a ticket voucher to a future Earthquakes home match. Participants who register before July 20 will have their names recognized on the main stadium scoreboard screen.

EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE

Earthquakes II fell to Colorado Rapids 2 2-1 on Friday at the University of Denver Soccer Stadium in Denver, Colo. The result sees Quakes II snap their five-match undefeated run. The two teams endured a one-hour weather delay before kickoff.

Quakes II will next face Timbers2 in their third consecutive road match on Friday, July 22. Kickoff from Providence Park is scheduled for 1 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on MLSNEXTPro.com.
