Higuaín and Gregore Named to MLS Team of the Week

Inter Miami CF forward Gonzalo Higuaín and midfielder Gregore have been named to the MLS Team of the Week presented by Audi for week 21 of the regular season. The pair's contributions helped rally the Herons to an exhilarating 3-2 comeback win over Charlotte FC, Saturday, July 16, at DRV PNK Stadium. The recognition is the first of the campaign for both South Americans as Inter Miami has now seen nine different players be awarded Team of the Week nominations this season.

Higuaín was named to the starting XI of the Team of the Week after the decorated striker scored his second goal in as many matches off the bench.

On Saturday, Higuaín found the back of the net again just days after scoring against the Philadelphia Union, this time connecting with fellow Team of the Week honoree Gregore. The Brazilian chipped the ball over the top of the defense to Higuaín, who took one touch before powering the ball across goal into the far corner, tying the game at two in the 72nd minute, and raising his season scoring tally to four.

Team captain Gregore, meanwhile, was named to the bench of the Team of the Week; the midfielder also assisted on Inter Miami's first goal of the match, logging two assists that evening to take his overall record in 2022 to three.

Inter Miami has now had a player or coach represented in the Team of the Week in 10 different weeks during the 2022 MLS Regular Season thus far.
