St. Paul, Minn. - The Portland Timbers dropped a 4-1 result on the road to Minnesota United FC at Allianz Field on Saturday night. Franck Boli scored Portland's lone goal of the match, his team-leading sixth of the season. The Timbers will face a quick turnaround as they travel to play the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Tuesday, July 4.

Franck Boli scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season in tonight's match. All six of Boli's goals this year have been Portland's first of the match. Notably, Boli (5) and Evander (3) have scored the Timbers' last eight goals in league play. Nathan Fogaça tallied his second assist of the season on Boli's goal, becoming the ninth player to record multiple assists for the club in 2023. POR - Franck Boli (Nathan Fogaça, Diego Chara), 60th minute: Diego Chara played the ball centrally for Nathan Fogaça, who played a quick pass in between two Minnesota defenders. Franck Boli ran onto it and dribbled into the box before slotting a left-footed shot inside of the near post.
MIN - Bongokuhle Hlongwane (Zarek Valentin), 74thminute: Zarek Valentin played a long ball over the top for Bongokuhle Hlongwane to run onto. Running into the box on the dribble, Hlongwane slid the ball under Portland goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic to find the net.
MIN - Emanuel Reynoso (Bongokuhle Hlongwane), 77th minute: Bongokuhle Hlongwane received the ball at the endline and played it across the face of the net. Emanuel Reynoso ran into the area and fired a first-time shot into the back of the net.
