Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced the travel roster for English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion, which visits JELD-WEN Field for an international exhibition, presented by Verizon Wireless, Wednesday at 8 p.m. (PT).
West Bromwich Albion's 26-player travel roster features forward Peter Odemwingie, a Nigerian international who ranked fifth during the 2010-11 Premier League season with a team-high 15 goals. Head coach Roy Hodgson will also bring midfielder Steven Reid, who starred for Ireland in the 2002 FIFA World Cup, captain and 2009-10 co-leading scorer Chris Brunt, midfield stalwart Youssouf Mulumbu and Swedish international and defender Jonas Olsson.
The match can be heard live on 750 AM The Game and in Spanish on La Pantera 940 AM. A live video webcast will also be available at www.portlandtimbers.com.
Wednesday's match marks the third and final stop on the Baggies' preseason tour of the United States. West Brom previously lost 2-1 to the San Jose Earthquakes on July 12 and defeated the Ventura County Fusion 4-2 on Sunday.
The friendly marks the Timbers' third international exhibition this season. Portland previously hosted Dutch club AFC Ajax in May and Mexico's Club América earlier this month. The Timbers will take on Argentine club Independiente next Tuesday to round out the exhibition slate.
