Tigers Trade Vasquez to Astros

Norwich, CT - The Detroit Tigers traded OF Danry Vasquez and a player to be named later to the Houston Astros in exchange for closer Jose Veras. Vasquez was ranked by MLB.com as the fourth-best prospect in Detroit's system before the season.

Vasquez was batting.281 with five homeruns and 39 RBIs with the Tigers' Low A affiliate, the West Michigan Whitecaps. In 2012 Vazquez hit .311 with two home runs and 35 RBIs in 72 games. Vasquez led the New York-Penn league in hits with 90.

Veras is 0-4 with a 2.93 ERA and 19 saves.
