Norwich, CT - The Hudson Valley Renegades fell on the road 5-3 to the Connecticut Tigers on Friday evening, dropping to 43-23 overall. The loss hands them their first defeat since the All-Star Break, and brings them to twenty games above .500. The Renegades still hold the top record in the New York-Penn League, and sit six games ahead of the Brooklyn Cyclones in first place of the McNamara Division. Hudson Valley is now 20-15 on the road in 2014, and are tied with State College for most road wins in the league.

Enderson Franco started the game on the hill for the Renegades, and went five innings in the outing. He allowed four runs on seven hits and struck out four batters. Franco had not allowed more than two runs in his last four starts prior to this one, and still holds an impressive 6-3 record with a 3.25 ERA.

Eli Echarry and Mike Franco would combine to go the rest of the way out of the bullpen, finishing off the final three innings. Together, they allowed just three hits and no earned runs in the outing.

Hudson Valley scored their first run of the night in the top of the first inning, and added two more in the top of the fifth. They would not score again after that point. The Renegades scored their three runs on eight hits, with Braxton Lee leading the charge. The Ole Miss product went 3-4 with a walk and scored two runs on the night. He brings his batting average up to .305, and now has 14 hits in his last ten games.
