JAMESTOWN, NY - Coming off an impressive 2-0 shutout win over the Batavia Muckdogs last night, the Jammers push to the playoffs won't get any easier tonight as they welcome the State College Spikes to town for the start of a three game series at Diethrick Park.
Currently, the Jammers have an overall record of 30-33, and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. The team finds themselves eight games behind the Spikes in the Pinckney division, and they are five games back of the Brooklyn Cyclones in the New York-Penn League Wild Card Race.
The Spikes have been playing well pretty much all season. They are 39-26 on the season, 19-12 on the road, 29-12 within the Pinckney division, and are 6-4 in their last 10 games. Their magic number to clinch the division is three entering Friday night's game with Jamestown.

Friday, August 22nd: RHP Daniel Poncedeleon (State College, 1-3, 3.15 ERA) vs. RHP Alex McRae (Jamestown, 3-4, 4.61 ERA)
Daniel Poncedeleon: Right-handed pitcher from La Mirada, California. 9th round pick in the 2014 Draft out of Embry-Riddle University in Florida. Has made 10 appearances for the Spikes this season (eight starts). In 34 1/3 innings, Poncedeleon has given up 30 hits, 13 runs (12 earned), has walked 12, struck out 37, has a record of 1-3, and an ERA of 3.15
Alex McRae: Right-handed pitcher from New Berlin, Wisconsin. 10th round pick in 2014 out of the University of Jacksonville. Has made 12 starts for the Jammers in 2014. In 54 2/3 innings, McRae has given up 61 hits, 28 runs (all earned), has walked 10, struck out 36, has a record of 3-4, and an ERA of 4.61.
Saturday, August 23rd: RHP Will Anderson (State College, 5-2, 2.31 ERA) vs. RHP Austin Coley (Jamestown, 0-1, 5.63 ERA)
Will Anderson: Right-handed pitcher from Pleasanton, California. 26th round pick in 2014 out of Cal State Monterey Bay. Has made 10 starts for the Spikes this season. In 58 1/3 innings, Anderson has surrendered 61 hits, 24 runs (15 earned), has walked nine, struck out 50, has a record of 5-2, and an ERA 2.31.
Austin Coley: Right-handed pitcher from Nashville, Tennessee. 8th round pick in the 2014 Draft out of the University of Belmont. Has made six starts for the Jammers this season. In 16 innings, Coley has given up 24 hits, 10 runs (all earned), has walked four, struck out 15, has a record of 0-1, and an ERA of 5.63.
Sunday, August 24th: RHP Fernando Baez (State College, 2-1, 3.68 ERA) vs. RHP Tyler Eppler (Jamestown, 1-2, 2. 70 ERA)
Fernando Baez: Right-handed pitcher from San Cristobal in the Dominican Republic. Was signed as an international free agent in 2009. Has made 11 appearances for the Spikes in 2014. In 36 2/3 innings, Baez has given up 21 hits, 16 runs (15 earned), has walked 22, struck out 38, has a record of 2-1, and an ERA of 3.68.
Tyler Eppler: Right-handed pitcher from Navasota, Texas. 6th round pick in the 2014 Draft out of Sam Houston State. Has made 12 starts for the Jammers in 2014. In 54 1/3 innings, Eppler has given up 48 hits, 22 runs (17 earned), has walked 10, struck out 40, has a record of 1-2, and an ERA of 2.70.

Elvis Escobar (Outfielder): Escobar put the Jammers on the board in the bottom of the eighth inning last night with an RBI single, which continued his impressive streak of hitting lately. In his last nine games, he is hitting .361, with 13 hits in 36 at-bats, one home run, and 2 RBIs. On the season, Escobar is now hitting .320 in 27 games, with 32 hits in 100 at-bats, three doubles, one triple, and one home run.
Jordan Luplow (Outfielder): Luplow followed Escobar's RBI single with an RBI single himself to extend the Jammers lead to 2-0 last night. In his last 10 games, Luplow is hitting .313, with 10 hits in 32 at-bats, one home run, and five RBIs. On the season, Luplow is hitting .277 in 49 games, with 48 hits in 173 at-bats, nine doubles, one triple, five home runs, and 23 RBIs.
