Tigers Team Physician Dr. Rod MacKenzie Passes Away

Medicine Hat, AB - It is with great sadness the Medicine Hat Tigers announce the passing of team physician Dr. R.I. (Rod) MacKenzie.

For 22 season, Dr. MacKenzie treated many players helping them back into the Tigers line up and he was an integral part of the Tigers organization. He was part of three championship teams in 1987, 1988 and 2004.

"Rod was a great person," said Tigers' president Darrell Maser. "His committed, compassionate care and enthusiastic support of the players was always greatly appreciated by the entire Tigers organization and will be sadly missed."

Dr. MacKenzie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Linda, his sons Bryan, John and Scott and his daughter Karen.

The funeral service will be held in Holy Family Parish, 1451 Strachan Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at 4:00 p.m.
