WEEKEND RE-CAP: Indiana rolled to a 2-1-0 record last week after beating the Waterloo Black Hawks 3-2 and splitting a home and home weekend series with the Chicago Steel as the Ice fell 5-2 on Friday in Chicago before rebounding on home ice with a 3-2 win on Saturday.... 3/14 vs Waterloo: A strong third period propelled Indiana past Waterloo as Greg Squires, Mike Phillippi and John Kemp registered goals for the Ice while goaltender Cody Reichard made 31 saves in route to the win....3/16 at Chicago: Indiana pumped out a USHL record 50 shots on net, but only John Kemp and Eric Miller could find the back of the net in the Steel's 5-2 victory.....3/17 vs Chicago: The Ice jumped out to a 3-0 lead with goals from Brent Gwidt, Garrett Roe and Mike Phillippi and never looked back. Alex Kangas turned back 27 shots for the win in net.
"ROE-ING" UP THE CHARTS: With a goal and an assist in Saturday night's 3-2 victory, forward Garrett Roe is one point shy of tying the all-time Ice season record of 55 points set by teammate John Kemp in 2005-06. Kemp has registered 33 career multi-point games and the second year forward is the only Ice player besides Garrett Roe to record 100 points (20G, 86A) in his Ice career.
MR. 2000: Alex Kangas became the first Indiana Ice netminder to break the 2,000 minute mark in a single season after his 27-save performance in Saturday night's 3-2 win over Chicago. In two USHL seasons between Indy and Sioux Falls, the Minnesota-bound goaltender has collected 37 wins to go along with a 2.74 GAA and .914 save percentage.
