
Tigers Swept in Home and Home Series against Hitmen

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers were swept in their home and home series against the Calgary Hitmen after falling 5-2 Saturday night.
The Tigers took their first lead of the night with 10.9 seconds left in the second stanza when James Hamblin scored to make it 3-2. Unfortunately, the Hitmen came out strong and scored three unanswered goals in the final frame to seal their series sweep after winning 3-1 Friday night in Calgary.
Mark Kastelic and Luke Coleman scored midway through the first period to give the Hitmen an early 2-0 lead.
Shortly after Coleman's goal, Brett Kemp scored his 27th of the season by firing the puck over the glove of Hitmen netminder Carl Stankowski. Kemp's goal was assisted by Cole Clayton and Corson Hopwo.
In the middle frame, Tyler Preziuso scored on the power play to tie the game up by redirecting the puck from Logan Christensen. Daniel Baker also combined on the play that lead to Preziuso's 20th goal of the season.
Hamblin scored his 32nd goal of the season by tapping in a rebound to send his team to the dressing room leading 3-2 after 40 minutes of play. Linus Nassen and Preziuso assisted on the play.
Kastelic scored the equalizer midway through the final frame while the Hitmen were on the power play before Vladislav Yeryomenko scored to regain the lead for Calgary. Kastelic scored his third of the night while on the power play late in the game to ensure the Hitmen's 5-3 defeat of the Tigers.
Jordan Hollett stopped 34 of 39 shots faced while Stankowski turned aside 27 of the Tigers' 30 shots.
Medicine Hat is now 31-21-3-2 and will travel to Edmonton to play the Oil Kings on Family Day Monday. The game will start at 2 PM.
