Everett Silvertips News Release

KENT, Wash. - Seattle goaltender Roddy Ross turned away 46 shots on goal to help the Seattle Thunderbirds to get past the Everett Silvertips, 4-1, in U.S. Division action on Saturday, before an announced crowd of 5,300 at accesso Showare Center.

Everett forward Bryce Kindopp netted the lone goal for the Silvertips, his 33rd of the season, while the Tips power play unit converted on one-of-five opportunities while finishing the back end of three games in three days, covering over 600 miles of travel. The Silvertips remain atop of the U.S. Division with 81 points, and dropped their first loss in seven meetings with the Thunderbirds, also having their five-game win streak in Kent snapped.

UP NEXT: The Tips continue their road trip as they head north to play the Prince George Cougars on back-to-back nights starting Monday, Feb. 18, and Tuesday, Feb. 19. (1380 AM / 95.3 FM / TuneIn App / WHL Live). The Tips return home Friday, Feb. 22, at 7:35 for a battle against Seattle. Tickets available at www.everettsilvertips.com/tickets.

The Silvertips offense came out hot in the first, where they landed nine shots on goal before Everett goaltender Dustin Wolf made his first save of the night to send the game into its first media timeout with less than ten minutes remaining.

Seattle defenseman Tyrel Bauer committed a holding penalty at 15:31, which gave the Silvertips their second man-advantage opportunity of the night. Kindopp converted by forcing his way to the net and gave the Tips a 1-0 lead at 15:48, as backhander shot over the right pad of Ross. Connor Dewar and Zack Andrusiak both recorded assists on the play, helping force the puck off the wall for Kindopp.

The Thunderbirds retaliated with their own power play goal, to tie the game 1-1 at 17:09. T-Birds forward Andrej Kukuca netted a loose puck net front of a crowed crease, created off a shot from Wedman off a pass from Noah Philp.Everett outshot Seattle 13-12 in the opening frame.

Seattle took a 2-1 lead at 11:12 in the second, as defenseman Jarret Tyszka ripped a shot from the point off a faceoff win from Wedman, which found its way through traffic and past Wolf.

After 40 minutes of play, the Silvertips held the edge on shots, 30-20, despite a 2-1 deficit. The T-birds converted for their second power play goal of the night to make it 3-1 at 8:47, as Wedman was fed in the slot who landed a wrist shot to Wolf's glove side.

Everett pulled Wolf for the extra attacker with 2:45 left in regulation, which led to Seattle's Payton Mount to land an empty netter at 17:25, to make it 4-1.

The Silvertips finished the game with 47 shots on goal, while Wolf turned away 25 shots.
