After scoring three goals in the second period to gain their first lead of the night, the Tigers were unable to tame the Hurricanes allowing six goals in the final frame.
Ty Kolle and Nolan Jones scored for the Hurricanes in the first period to give the home team an early lead.
Fifty-four seconds into the second stanza, Tyler Preziuso set up Ryan Jevne to score the Tabbies' first goal of the night. Jevne's goal is his fifth goal of the season and it extended his point streak to seven points (4G, 3A) in the Tigers' last four games.
Four minutes later, Elijah Brown redirected James Hamblin's shot to score his fourth goal of the season and tie the game up at 2 goals apiece. Henrik Rybinski also assisted on the play.
With less than a minute remaining in the middle frame, Ryan Chyzowski and Daniel Baker set Preziuso up to score his fifth goal of the season and gain the Tigers' only lead of the night with a score of 3-2. Preziuso now has eight points (3G, 5A) in his last four outings while linemate Chyzowski has a five point (1G, 4A) streak in the Tabbies' last four games.
In the third stanza, Hurricanes Dylan Cozens, Zachary Cox, Jadon Joseph, Logan Barlage, Jordy Bellerive and Taylor Ross all scored to erase the Tigers' comeback and win the game 8-3.
