Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Cole Sillinger of the Medicine Hat Tigers has been named WHL Rookie of the Month for September and October 2019.

Sillinger led all WHL rookies with 17 points (8G-9A), including two power-play goals, in 14 games as the Tigers started the 2019-20 WHL Regular Season with a 9-4-1-0 record, good enough for third place in the Central Division.

Chosen with the 11th-overall selection of the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft, Sillinger ended the month of October on a six-game point streak. The 16-year-old forward has appeared in 18 WHL regular season games to date, posting 19 points (8G-11A), including a pair of power-play goals. He's also appeared in six WHL playoff games, scoring one goal.

Earlier this month, Sillinger was named to Team Canada White for the 2019 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, which will take place in Medicine Hat, Alta. and Swift Current, Sask. from Saturday, November 2 to Saturday, November 9, 2019.

The Tigers are in action next on Saturday, November 2 (7:05 p.m. PT) against the Victoria Royals as they begin a five-game road trip through the B.C. Division.
