
ICE Beat the Hurricanes in a Shootout

The Winnipeg ICE bounced back after a tough loss to the Blades in Saskatoon with a third straight home win. Michal Teply and Isaac Johnson scored in the shootout as the ICE beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 4-3.
After a scoreless first period, Lethbridge's Oliver Okuliar opened the scoring 33 seconds into the second period with his 9th goal of the season.
Exactly halfway through the second period, Austin Schellenberg tied it up for the ICE with his 2nd goal of the season, with the assist coming from Rookie Logan Danis who registered his first career WHL point.
Calen Addison retook the lead for the Hurricanes at 02:34 on a delayed penalty to the ICE's Jackson Leppard, with Alex Thacker getting the lone assist on the goal.
The ICE came back to tie it 2-2 on a Powerplay goal by Owen Pedersen from Michal Teply and Chase Hartje at 06:56. The ICE then took the lead at 09:25 with a goal by Michael Milne from Logan Danis and Austin Schellenberg.
Lethbridge tied it up with 1:34 seconds left in the third period through Dino Kambeitz' 6th goal of the season.
After a scoreless OT period, the game headed to a shootout where Michal Teply and Isaac Johnson scored for the ICE while ICE goalie Jesse Makaj stopped both Lethbridge shooters to seal the game. The game finished 4-3 in favor of the ICE, with Makaj making 31 saves in the win.
"Great win by the guys tonight" said forward Michael Milne after the game. "We all bought into the system and we came out on top which is nice". This win marks the third straight home win for the ICE.
The Hurricanes will be back at the ICE Cave (Wayne Fleming Arena) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. for a rematch with the ICE.
