Tigers' Pankake Named July NYPL Player of the Month

NORWICH, CT- The Connecticut Tigers are proud to announce that infielder baseman Joey Pankake has been named Player of the Month in the New York-Penn League for the month of July by Minor League Baseball.

Pankake led the New York-Penn League in batting average (.407) and on-base percentage (.470). His 35 hits and 10 doubles were both third best in the league. The infielder was also recently selected to represent the North Team at the 2014 New York-Penn League All-Star Game in Brooklyn, New York on August 19th.

Pankake will receive an award from Minor League Baseball and a congratulatory letter from Minor League Baseball President & CEO Pat O'Conner.

The Connecticut Tigers are the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play a 76 game schedule that runs from mid June through early September. 2014 season tickets, mini plans, individual game tickets, and team merchandise are now on sale!
