Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - The Medicine Hat Tigers handed the Everett Silvertips their first loss of the campaign Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena, pulling away at the end for a 6-3 final.

Medicine Hat jumped in front 8:44 into the first period as Cayden Lindstrom recorded his first career Western Hockey League goal. The Tigers got another career first at 9:52 off the stick of Shane Smith, as Medicine Hat took a 2-0 lead to the first intermission.

Alex Drover tapped in a Lindstrom pass for a 3-0 advantage at 1:52 in the second period, chasing Braden Holt from the Everett net to be replaced by Tim Metzger in his WHL debut. The Silvertips pulled within one with a pair of goals midway through the frame- the first an Austin Roest rebound goal, the second a Jackson Berezowski redirect. In the waning seconds of the middle frame, Andrew Basha snuck a low wrister under the blocker of Metzger for a powerplay goal to restore Medicine Hat's two-goal lead into the third.

Though the Tips would once more pull within one with Roest's second goal of the night, a powerplay goal at 17:04 from former Silvertip and Seattle native Brendan Lee sheathed the dagger in the Tips' comeback hopes. Brayden Boehm tacked on an empty netter for the 6-3 final.

Beckett Langkow stopped 34 of 37 in the win for Medicine Hat. The win brings the all-time series to even at nine games a side between the Silvertips and Tigers.

The Silvertips turn their attention to the Prince George Cougars Saturday night in Everett. Tickets are available.
