Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
The Medicine Hat Tigers tossed 51 shots towards the Moose Jaw net and handed the Warriors a 6-0 loss Friday at Mosaic Place.
Early in the first period, the Warriors did a good job matching the Tigers speed but as the period continued, the visitors were able to establish a more consistent presence inside the Moose Jaw zone which led to a 20-2 advantage on the shot clock.
Two and a half minutes into the game, the puck was bouncing between the Warriors circles.ÃÂ Moose Jaw was not able to get control, instead, the Tigers set up James Hamblin on the left side where he scored his team-leading 16th goal.
With just over six minutes left in the period, the Warriors had a breakdown at their left goal line.ÃÂ Medicine Hat's Elijah Brown was able to make a cross-ice pass to a wide-open Eric Van Impe in the right circle where he put a shot past a sprawling Adam Evanoff.
Just over a minute later, the Tigers came across the Warriors' right line.ÃÂ Moose Jaw broke up the initial pass to the middle of the ice by the Tigers but they were not able to get control of the puck.ÃÂ Instead, the Tigers utilized the second opportunity to set up Daniel Baker on top of the left circle where he scored Medicine Hat's third goal of the period.
In the second period, the Warriors adjusted and were able to get more attack time in the second period but they were not able to get on the scoreboard and continued to trail through forty minutes.
The third period saw the Tigers push for more, they outshot Moose Jaw 17-7 and picked up three more goals and handed the Warriors a 6-0 loss.
Adam Evanoff made 45 saves for the Warriors while Mads Sogaard made 15 for the shutout.ÃÂ James Hamblin led the Tigers with two goals and three points.
Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power-play.
The Warriors have the rest of the weekend off to get ready for a hectic schedule coming up next week where they will play 4-games in 5-days.
The action starts Tuesday and Wednesday when they head to Alberta for games in Edmonton and Red Deer.ÃÂ Next Friday they are back at home for a rematch against the Rebels, and then on Saturday, December 7th they will battle the Prince Albert Raiders in their annual Teddy Bear and Toque Toss Game.
