Last time they met: These teams last met in Saskatoon on October 12th with the Blades emerging victorious 2-1 in a tense battle. Riley McKay opened the scoring in the second period before Nolan Kneen made it 2-0 for the Blades early in the third. Kneen's goal would stand as the game-winner, though Dylan Cozens would keep things interesting by scoring 6th goal of the season at the 12:59 mark of the third, bringing Lethbridge back within one. Saskatoon's rookie netminder Koen MacInnes made 26 saves for his first win at SaskTel Centre in his first start at home.
What it means for Saskatoon: After a grind on the U.S. Division part of their road trip, the Blades will look to win back-to-back games for the first time since November 9th. And of course, knocking off the current top placed team in the WHL wouldn't be too bad for the team's confidence either.
The stat: 109 - the number of goals the Lethbridge Hurricanes have scored thus far this year, the most of any team in the league. That's an average of just over four a game.
The match-up: Based on the stat above, tonight's matchup will be the Blades' defence against against the Hurricanes' explosive forwards. Playing true to Mitch Love's game-play will be key, with little room for error as Lethbridge will be sure to pounce on any chance they're given.
It's a big night for: Tristen Robins - Robins plays in his 100th WHL career game tonight. Despite already being 18, he is in his first year of draft eligibility due to his late birthday. Robins currently sits third in scoring for the Blades with 18 points (9G-9A), and opened the scoring with a slick breakaway goal against Tri-City on Wednesday night. Robins joined the Blades via a trade with the Regina Pats back on January 8th, 2018, as a 16-year-old. Since then he has scored 18 goals with 26 assists for a total of 44 points.
