WILMINGTON, DE (AUGUST 12, 2010) - Thursday night's Winston-Salem Dash game against the Wilmington Blue Rocks has been cancelled due to rain. Because tonight was the last regular season meeting between the two teams, the game will not be made up.

The rain first arrived at approximately 2:30 this afternoon and persisted until about 5 p.m. The original forecast called for more rain around the scheduled start of tonight's game, continuing into the night. While it stayed dry after 7:05, the field was unplayable because of the earlier precipitation.

This is the Dash's third consecutive Thursday game that has been rained out. Winston-Salem's game at Myrtle Beach two weeks ago was postponed because of a severe thunderstorm. Last Thursday's home match-up with the Frederick Keys was also postponed because of wet weather.

Winston-Salem finishes its road trip with a three-game series at Frederick beginning on Friday. The Dash returns to BB&T Ballpark on Monday, August 16 when it opens a four-game home stand against Salem.

The Winston-Salem Dash is the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. To purchase tickets and for more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com .
