Thunderbirds Return Home to Take on Legends

Rio Rancho, NM -After a five-game road trip the New Mexico Thunderbirds will return home to the Santa Ana Star Center to take on the Texas Legends tonight at 8 p.m.
Before the T-Birds game, Cleveland High School and Rio Rancho High School will square off with the junior varsity game at 3:45 and the varsity game at 5:45.
Following the high school game, the Thunderbirds will take on the Legends who are coached by Hall of Famer, Nancy Lieberman. She is in her first year as the head coach of the Legends and is the first woman to coach a professional men's basketball team. Prior to coaching the Legends, Lieberman was the head coach of the WNBA's Detroit Shock.
The Legends are also led by 13-year NBA veteran Antonio Daniels who is averaging 15.1 points, 8.8 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game. Daniels was originally selected with the fourth overall pick in the 1997 NBA Draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies out of Bowling Green University. During his second season in the NBA, Daniels was a member of the NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs.
